After using Money 99 Standard Edition I felt I needed a change, therefore I looked around at the different products available. Quicken2000 Deluxe does everything I want and more. It is easy to use, and I can use it on the internet to keep track of my bank account, no longer waiting for my statement each month. I don’t yet pay bills online, but with the calender I can at least have a better idea of when each bill is due.

This product is a must have, how else can you work out how much debt you are in! I haven’t seen MS Money, I imagine they’re very similar. I’ve used Quicken for over 5 years, each release just keeps getting better :)

I have used panda for some years now and it doesn’t slow down my computer like norton. It also picks up on more stuff than mcafee. The only bad bit is that it only gets rid of ‘pop ups’ from everyone else. Their own are impossible to erradicate. You can click on ‘don’t show these again’ as many times as you like, but it won’t stop. It drives me mad, so you must balance how you will feel. I don’t know how legal it is either.

Buying through Amazon was cheaper than the official Apple Store. Even so it was quite expensive but I need the latest version of Outlook, which is not available on the Home edition.<br/>Installation was straightforward on both machines and I have started to use Outlook and find it very fast and an improvement over earlier versions of Outlook. I would recommend it over Entourage. Installation of Office for Mac 2011, 20 Aug 2011

I bought a Business Multipack Edition as I needed to instal the software on my desk iMac and also my laptop. Buying through Amazon was cheaper than the official Apple Store. Even so it was quite expensive but I need the latest version of Outlook, which is not available on the Home edition.
Installation was straightforward on both machines and I have started to use Outlook and find it very fast and an improvement over earlier versions of Outlook. I would recommend it over Entourage. The installation downloaded all my contacts files seamlessly, which was a great relief.

One thing to be aware of: if you use Google Apps, or Google Calendar, then Outlook doesn’t support Google Calendar. Funnily enough, Apple supports Google Calendar neatly on the iPhone and iPod touch etc, but Microsoft’s own software won’t. Google implemented Activesync, but it seems Microsoft just won’t play ball back.

Thus if you’ve got a Mac and want this perfectly valid option for your calendaring, you’re out of luck. Yet again Microsoft frustrates.

So I decided to have a look on their website and found I could download a free 30-Day evaluation copy which I have done. Unfortunately, after downloading the 80MB+ file and installing, it searched for an update and downloaded another 66MB! So, it's good that they're updating the software, but a shame that they don't put the most up to date version on the download link.<br/><br/>I exported my MSMoney data (about 10MB) and imported it into Home Accountz without any difficulty. There were a number of comments in reviews of the previous version about how long winded this process is, but I think that's people with unrealistic ideas on data migration. Just follow the instructions, tidy up any errors and Bob's your Uncle!<br/><br/>The way in which the data is displayed was also a criticism from other reviewers. It is different from MSMoney but it would just take a little while to get used to it. Home Accountz seems to do everything that MSMoney does, just in a different way.<br/><br/>Although I like MSMoney, it's no longer available and it's no longer supported, so I need to migrate to something else. Home Accountz seems to only have been out for a few weeks, replacing the older Personal Accountz, and I was very impressed with the functionality so far and the on-line forums where I searched for a few features that I couldn't find. I read the reviews for the previous version of this software which were quite mixed. So I decided to have a look on their website and found I could download a free 30-Day evaluation copy which I have done. Ever since Quicken decided to quit the UK I’ve been searching for a “simple”, no, uncomplicated method of keeping my home monies in order. Home Accountz does this with ease and, at the outset, my 71 year old mind could fathom some aspects. A simple phone call put it right. They’re nice people.
